Status: Unverified
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.x
SYMPTOM(s):
ERROR: Unable to locate database <database>"
dbman is being used to start the database
CAUSE:
The conmgr.properties file has not been edited to reflect the database configuration using Progress Explorer.
FIX:
If both NT and UNIX Operating systems are available but only a Progress 9.x license for UNIX has been purchased, we recommend requesting an evaluation copy for NT so the Progress Explorer can be used to create the conmgr.properties file.
This is the easiest, quickest and most economical solution to this situation, instead of buying a Progress 9.x license for NT just to create the required conmgr.properties file.
If only a UNIX Operating System is available then DBMAN cannot be used.
