SUMMARY:
If you try to enable automatic startup for the After-image writer in Progress Version 9.1x, the following error message appears in the Progress Explorer:
Error in startup of after image writer process for database <host:port:dbname>
This process terminated with exit code 1. (8619)
EXPLANATION:
The graphical Explorer tool in Progress Version 9.1x allows you to configure database settings remotely. By default, after-imaging is not enabled at installation.
There is however a check box to automatically start the After-image Writer at:
Databases > Configuration > defaultConfiguration > Background Writers > After-image Writer.
If you activate the check box, the error occurs. At first there is no apparent problem but when you stop and restart the database, the exit code error (8619) with exit code 1 appears.
