FACT(s) (Environment):

SYMPTOM(s):
SQL-92 crashes on AIX.
CAUSE:
IBM AIX requires an operating system patch to use XML.
FIX:
This solution contains information from Progress release notes that pertain to both SQL and XML.
1. SQL-92 crashes AIX 4.3.2 without MUP-2 installed; RN#: 091A-00580.
2. You must install Maintenance Update Patch 2 (MUP-2) on AIX 4.3.2 to use SQL-92. Otherwise, SQL-92 can cause AIX to hang or dump the core.
3. SQL Explorer and Server require installation of Maintenance Level Update 4320-02_AIX_ML. Intermittent hangs and/or crashes in either the SQL Explorer or SQL Server can occur if this patch is not installed.
