Minimum files req. to run PROGRESS V6 in a DOS environment.

This notebook entry describes the absolute minimum files required to
run a PROGRESS application in a DOS Real Mode, DOS Protected Mode,
Microsoft Windows, or NLM server environment.

The disk storage requirements for PROGRESS Version 6 products
range from 13mg to over 20mg, depending on the license type,
the add-on products, etc. All of these files are not required
when the customer runs ONLY existing applications (for example,
runtime or query/report environment) and does not access the Data
Dictionary, use the Procedure Editor, or run utilities. By installing
just the files required to run precompiled applications, the customer
can reduce disk storage requirements to 1 or 2 mg.

The following required files are organized by DOS product.

DOS Real Mode Size DOS Protected Mode Size
------------- ---- ------------------ ----
_PROGRES.EXE 183 K _PPROGRS.EXE 930 K

Progress Software ships its NLM server product with a single-user
version of PROGRESS. Many customers do not want to keep all of the
files associated with this product on the file server's disk. The
following list gives the size of the basic files required to run only
the NLM server.

NLM SERVER
----------
_MPRTLI.NLM or 163 K
_MPROSERV.NLM** 155 K
PROMSGS 163 K
PROGRESS.CFG 52 bytes

** Starting with Release 6.2M15 of the NLM server, only
_MPROTLI.NLM will be shipped. However, earlier versions
are shipped with _MPROTLI.NLM and _MPROSRV.NLM. One of
these files is required to run the NLM server.
