Kbase 19546: Error 8336 During Connection of Remote AdminServer

SUMMARY:

This solution applies to Progress Explorer Version 9.0 and later.
If you are trying to connect a remote AdminServer from Progress
Explorer and get the error message 8336, try to check the HOSTS files from both machines.

EXPLANATION:

In order to connect a remote AdminServer using Progress Explorer, the client and host machines must know each other by using hostname. Even if you successfully ping both machines with the IP address, you must configure the HOSTS files to ping each other using the hostname instead of the IP address.

If you do not have a DNS server to resolve the hostname, you can edit the HOSTS file to include this information on the server and the client.
