Kbase 19486: Slow Performance with Terminal Server

The following solution for improving performance of Progress sessions running on Terminal Server came from a customer and has not been tested within PSC Technical Support (so no guarantees are made).

Progress applications running on Terminal Server need to have registry changes made to perform adequately.

There is a tool available for downloading from www.thethin.net that makes applying these changes easy. It's called the Compatibility Manager (cmptman.exe).

You need to make entries for all Progress client executables you will use (prowin32, _progres etc.).

Using this program check the Win32 box and enter 0's for the idle detection values. You do not need to set any of the compatibility flags.
