When working with codepages it's important to know what characters are included in a specific code page and what are they numeric values.

Progress Internationalization Guide (page 4-4 - 4-5 in V8/V9 documentation) shows two codepages common in Western Europe, North America and Latin America, eg. ibm850 and iso8859-1.
