Introduction:
When attempting to configure the Merant ODBC driver on 8.3b the computer hangs.
Re-installing the Merant driver does not fix the problem just on Windows 95.
What You Need to Know:
You can download the file (401comupd.exe) from Microsoft's website at the following location www.microsoft.com\msdownload\IEplatform\IE\comctrl.asp
You then need to run the exe and that will install the comctl32.dll file. After re-booting the computer you will be able to configure the ODBC driver.
Additional information:
You may find some computers may hang when configuring the merant odbc driver. It does not happen on some computers. There is no specific manufacturer of computers that this happens to.
