FACT(s) (Environment):

Progress 9.1x
Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000

SYMPTOM(s):

Trying to connect to the Progress AdminServer Version 9.1x from the Progress Explorer

Unable to connect to Admin Server. Ensure Admin Server is running. (8336)

FIX:

Use the following steps to check resolve this problem:

1. If the AdminServer is actually running

2. If it is, go to the NT services and make sure that there are no other Progress services running.
This includes AdminServer for other versions of Progress).

If any of these services are stopped then stop and restart the AdminServer before you connecting.

3.If the first two checks do not help, check the service pack of NT. The service pack must be 5 or higher.
