Kbase 19249: 2 Agents Limit With WS 3.x WorkShop And Development Server

FACT(s) (Environment):

WebSpeed 3.x

SYMPTOM(s):

Configured maxSrvrInstance (<cfgMaxServers>) exceeds maximum licensed servers (<maxLicensedServers>). (8453)

After installing WebSpeed Workshop or WebSpeed Development Server, broker only is able to spawn two agents/servers.

If more than two agents are spawned, error 8453 will be displayed within the WebSpeed Broker log file:

Within the Ubroker.properties, the "Initial Server Instances"to Start" for the WebSpeed broker is set to 5 and "Maximum Server Instances" is 10.

CAUSE:

By default, the WebSpeed Workshop, WebSpeed Development Server (along with other licenses such as ProVision Plus) only come with a 2-agent limit, thus for development purposes. The values listed within the ubroker.properties are misleading, as the user (if not aware of this limitation) assumes to have to 5 agents at "start up".

FIX:

Set the Initial and Maximum Server Instances to the value of 2.
If more agents are needed, the user must contact their sales representative for an upgrade within the user count.
