SUMMARY:
This solution explains how to convert Progress Version 4.x and 5.x .df files into Version 8.x and 9.x .df files.
SOLUTION:
There is a Version 6.x Data Dictionary utility in the Data Dictionary > Database > Progress Utilitites directory called Convert V4/V5 .df into V6 .df. You can find the source of the procedure called from this Data Dictionary utility for Version 8.x and 9.x in:
Version 8.x:
%DLC%\src\prodict\dump\_dmp5cvt.p or
%DLC/src/prodict/dump/_dmp5cvt.p
Version 9.x:
%DLC%\src\prodict.pl (procedure library) or
$DLC/src/prodict.pl.
Use extractpl.bat (in the same directory) to extract the procedure(s) from the library in Version 9.x.
Now that you have the Version 6.x .df, you should be able to load that into a Version 8.x or 9.x database.
