International keyboard - point vs. comma
SUMMARY: International keyboard - point vs. comma
Knowledge Base number: 19159
This document applies to: WinChar under Win95
Version and Release Number: 8.2A and greater
INTRODUCTION:
If you are using international keyboard layout (for example
German - Standard) the num-pad decimal point is displaying a comma
in notepad and DOS prompt as expected for this settings. But
the 32-bit Windows Character Client under Windows 95 displays
a point. This is due to a problem in console implementation
in Windows 95.
A possible, working, not supported solution is the tool ZDKEYMAP.
ZDKeyMap adds a property page to the Control Panel's Keyboard
applet that lets you remap all the standard keys on your keyboard.
You can download it from http://www.zdnet.com, search for zdkeymap,
go to download section. For installation information see the
zdkeymap.txt. Remap the num-pad point to a comma to solve the issue.
