error 5893 when installing WS 3.0B on Intel 32
INTRODUCTION: When installing WebSpeed 3.0B on intel 32 platforms,
this error can occure:
The automation server for <automation object name> is not registered
properly.
Please reinstall this server or try registering it again. (5893)
WHY YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS: To get the customer up and running.
PROCEDURAL APPROACH: You have to do one out of two things:
1) Reinstall, however most often this does not help. If not goto 2)
2) Register the Prox.dll manually. This is done, using the
Regsvr32.exe. It cane be done like this:
- startup command prompt/dos-box
- enter dir c:\windows\system (for W95) c:\winnt\system32 (for NT4)
- run the following command:
regsvr32.exe <path to V9 dlc directory>\bin\prox.dll
- reboot is needed on W95 and optional on NT. However a reboot would
be recommended on NT.
