Unrecognized option: -nojit Could not create Java virtual
Unrecognized option: -nojit Could not create
the Java virtual machine
If trying to run an Apptivity 3.1 project from the Developer
with JDK 1.2 by default an error :
Unrecognized option: -nojit
Could not create the Java virtual machine
will appear.
The cause of the problem is that JDK 1.2 java.exe doesn't
recognize the -nojit option anymore Apptivity 3.1 based on
JDK 1.1.8 uses when starting a project from inside the
Apptivity Developer.
Since the Apptivity Developer reads when starting it's settings
on NT4.0 or Windows9x from the registry the
Solution
for that is to remove the -nojit entry from the
registry key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Apptivity30\Apptivity Developer\Developer]
"JITArg"
If to use JDK 1.1.8 again changing back that entry
to contain -nojit is appropriate. A fast way to find that entry is
using "Find" from the registry editor for the key word -nojit.
Make sure to exit developer before doing that change, because
otherwise it will write the current settings back into the registry.
