SUMMARY:
When you upgrade Progress to 8.3B, if you install ProControl as a System Service, you get an error when starting ProControl that the working directory is invalid.
EXPLANATION:
During the installation of Progress on the NT Server, the service
"ProService for 8.3B" is added. When the service is reviewed -- Control Panel > Services icon -- you can see what the service Startup Type is. Also you can see how the service logs on: Logon to the System Account or a User defined account. You need to specify "User defined account". The problem is an authorization problem. The system account was not able to access the database.
