SUMMARY:
This Knowledge Base explains why the browse feature is grayed out in the Version 9 Progress Explorer for directory searches.
EXPLANATION:
The "Directory Browse" feature button is found on the general tab for each broker configuration screen. Typically, this feature is meant to allow you to define your working directory for each broker.
The reason this feature is not available is because the
JFC (Java Foundation Classes) 1.1.x only supports
"File Browse". The "Directory Browse" is currently not
supported, but may become available in 1.2 or later versions.
NOTE: The browse feature for the broker log and session log files
are not grayed out because they are considered to be "File
Browses" and not a "Directory Browse".
SOLUTION:
Manually enter in the desired working directory or accept
the default value.
