Status: Unverified
SYMPTOM(s):
Attempting to perform prorest -vf verify against a restored copy of the database and getting 9454 and 3757 errors.
Full verify failed. (3757)
DB block in area <number> with dbkey <dbkey>, does not match backup. (9454)
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
Progress/OpenEdge Product Family
CAUSE:
The prorest <dbname> <backup file> -vf is intended to be used against the source database immediately after the backup is completed.
The -vf option will perform a block by block comparison of all the blocks in the backup file against all the blocks of the source database.
If the -vf test is performed immediately after the backup is made and no changes were made to the source database since the backup was performed the blocks should be perfectly identical.
When a restore is performed the copy of the database has some small changes made to it for many reasons (after imaging may be disabled, files structure differences may be imprinted in the restored database, etc.)
FIX:
These messages are expected when performing a prorest -vf against a restored database made from a backup of a database.
