SYMPTOM(s):
[DataDirect][ODBC OPENEDGE Wire Protocol driver] [OpenEdge] Broker rejects connection.
ODBC test connection fails with Broker Rejects Connection
Database broker is correctly configured to service SQL Clients
Connecting to proper port
Connecting with a valid database user name and password
sqlexp fails with error 8933 when using -ssl parameter
Error: <command name | SQL Exception message>. (8933)
Error: [DataDirect][OpenEdge JDBC Driver]SSL Mismatch. Encryption method in client and server must match.. (8933)
User has no intention of using SSL.
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.1C
OpenEdge 10.2x
All Supported Operating Systems
CAUSE:
Database is being started via the OpenEdge Explorer/AdminServer tool with the "Enable SSL for remote connections" box checked under the defaultConfiguration section.
This can also happen if the -ssl is used when starting the database.
FIX:
Remove the the check from the "Enable SSL for remote connections "
