SYMPTOM(s):
Client process terminates when using the O/S clipboard after upgrading to 64-bit Windows.
Error Details of the terminated process shows that it died in msvcr80.dll
The application is using the O/S clipboard and while it works on 32-bit Windows it fails on 64-bit Windows.
FACT(s) (Environment):

CAUSE:
The application is designed to run on 32-bit but not 64-bit.
FIX:
The application vendor must determine the correct way of using the O/S clipboard when using 64-bit Windows and change the application accordingly.
