GOAL:
Once a certification has been completed for a specific Operating System and OpenEdge release, will Progress re-certify automatically for all subsequent releases of OpenEdge?
GOAL:
When a version of OpenEdge is certified with a specific release of the Operating System, does that mean that Progress will re-certify for the next version of OpenEdge automatically?
GOAL:
Once an Operating System version has been certified with a specific release of OpenEdge, will all later releases of OpenEdge be re-certified?
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
Progress/OpenEdge Product Family
OpenEdge Category: Migration
OpenEdge Category: Configuration
FIX:
The answer is no. Certification is done on a specific Operating System and OpenEdge release. All subsequent OpenEdge Releases beyond and including the initial one certified are expected to work. Additional testing is performed on later OpenEdge releases (beyond the initial one the certification was done on) to ensure that the certification holds. We do not automatically go through another certification process. Typically a re-certification would occur only if something major changes, such as something like the compiler we use.
