SYMPTOM(s):
The procedure entry point FindActCtxSectionStringA could not be located in the dynamic link library kernel32.dll
Getting a missing dependancy error when trying to run Webclient or OpenEdge on Windows 2000
Application fails to start with FindActCtxSectionStringA missing dependency
FACT(s) (Environment):
Webclient 10.1x
OpenEdge 10.1x
Windows 2000
CHANGE:
Installed MS Update 2467174 as per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2467174
CAUSE:
MS issue - an extra dependency was added to MFC libraries which is not available under Windows 2000
FIX:
Copy from the (\WinNT\)WinSxS folder the older version of MFC8 back to (\WinNT\)system32 or your program folder.
Note: This can be used as a workaround until MS issues a fix via MS update.
