Status: Unverified
SYMPTOM(s):
Running an application gives an error with prowin32
Prowin32 has stopped working
Windows is running in Windows 7 mode
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows 7
OpenEdge 10.2B
CAUSE:
There is no known cause at this time. There generally is not any problem with running prowin32 on Windows 7 and it is not expected to crash. This may be related to the code run or other cause but there is not sufficient information to determine this.
FIX:
1. Please contact Progress Customer Support for further assistance to isolate why prowin32 is crashing.
2. One workaround is to run the Windows machine in XP mode. To use Windows XP Mode, you need to download
and install Windows XP Mode, which is a fully licensed version of Windows XP with Service Pack 3. You also need
to download and install Windows Virtual PC, which is the program that runs virtual operating systems on your computer.
When you install a program in Windows XP Mode, the program becomes available for use in both Windows XP Mode
and Windows 7.
