SYMPTOM(s):
Commands like proutil and prostrct are displaying the OpenEdge version screen over and over.
When issuing a prostrct command to create a new database, the OpenEdge banner and version screen display over and over.
When issuing any proutil command, the OpenEdge banner and version screen display over and over.
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows
Progress 9.1D
CAUSE:
The %DLC%\bin\_dbutil.exe file has been renamed to _dbutil.bat.
FIX:
Rename the _dbutil.bat file back to _dbutil.exe, or if you are not sure if it or any other files may have been changed or corrupted, reinstall OpenEdge.
