Status: Unverified

SYMPTOM(s):

When using static browse it automatically repositions to the 1st column whose 1st letter matches a (printable) key pressed.

Dynamic brow does not perform this automatic reposition.

The reposition can me achieve using trigger ANY-PRINTABLE but the desired behavior is that the browse reposition automatically

FACT(s) (Environment):

All Supported Operating Systems
OpenEdge 10.x
OpenEdge 10.2x
OpenEdge 10.2B

CAUSE:

This difference in the behavior of static vs dynamic browse is expected.

It caused by a browse property called ALLOW-COLUMN-SEARCHING which is set by default to FALSE on static browse and TRUE for dynamic browse.

FIX:

Set the ALLOW-COLUMN-SEARCHING to FALSE for the dynamic browse. It will then perform the automatic reposition as the static browse does.
