Status: Unverified
SYMPTOM(s):
Getting access denied attempting to open WSMAdmin configuration
IP Authorized list defined with local IP address 192.168.0.x
Website used to access WSMAdmin was using the external host name for site.
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
WebSpeed
CAUSE:
The use of the external host name causes the browser to access the host as an external site not an internal site. The IP of the client is no longer accepted as a local address and is denied access.
The IP address 192.168.0.x is a private address that is used by many companies and practically every home network for internal IP assignment and is not accepted by the authorized list if the connection attempt uses an external reference.
FIX:
Try using / setting up an internal website interface to the same WebSpeed broker, one that can be addressed by the same private network address schemes.
Example:
If the client machine is 192.168.x.x the the server IP should be a similar reference of 192.168.x.x. In these examples x can be replaced by any value from 1 to 254.
