Msngr: Failed to connect to the specified WebSpeed named service. <BR>Verify that the service has been started. <BR>Verify the configuration for the service is correct. (5804)
Working within a Distributed Configuration where web server resides on a separate machine
Use .wsc script to directly connect to broker where the WebSpeed transaction server name is used instead of IP address
Telnet to the broker port from the web server works fine when used IP address of the broker machine
The DNS is updated with the new IP address
Moving back to the same subnet as the transaction server with the new IP address does not resolve the errors
The hosts file on the web server does not have any entries, i.e., it is empty.
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
OpenEdge 10.x
WebSpeed 3.1x
CHANGE:
The web server machine is moved to a different subnet with a new IP address
CAUSE:
The exact cause is unknown at the time of this writing
FIX:
Use IP address instead of server name of the WebSpeed transaction server on the .wsc script on the web server
