GOAL:

How to create a Replication Target database with after-imaging enabled

GOAL:

Is it possible to have a Replication Target database with After-Imaging enabled.

FACT(s) (Environment):

All Supported Operating Systems
OpenEdge Replication 10.x

FIX:

It is possible to have a Replication Target database enabled for After-Imaging. However, this is not only redundant but adds additional/unnecessary I/O to the Target database server.
Two possible methods to achieve this are as follows:
1) After setting up the source db, use OS copy/ or ftp to move the necessary database files to the target server. Once the files are there, prostrct repair the structure and then enable the database as a target; Because the database you are copying already has ai enabled and you are not using a prorest, the after-imaging is already enabled.

2) After the source db is backed up using probkup, prostrct create the target db structure on the target server with ai files. Next, prorest the source database into the target structure. Before enabling the db as a target, enable after-imaging. Once after-imaging is enabled, enable the database as a target.
