GOAL:
Where does ADM1 to ADM2 Conversion Utility write converted files?
GOAL:
Why are no updates written to the directory specified in the ADM1 to ADM2 SmartObject Conversion Utility?
GOAL:
Why are no updates written to the V8-ADM directory by the ADM1 to ADM2 SmartObject Conversion Utility?
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
CAUSE:
Enhancement Request# OE00204275
FIX:
The ADM1 to ADM2 Conversion Utility writes the converted files to the current working directory. The directory fill-in in the tool's GUI window specifies the directory where the tool should look for the unconverted files. The V8-ADM directory contains copies of the unconverted files.
In OpenEdge Development: ADM and SmartObjects, "ADM1 to ADM2 Conversion Utility > Using the ADM1 to ADM2 conversion utility > Performing the conversion > The Conversion Process", list item 4 might be interpreted to imply that the converted files are written to the V8-ADM directory. Enhancement Request# OE00204275 has been logged to clarify the documentation.
