CAUSE:
The "Download selected files" button initiates a java process for downloading multiple files selected. If the Internet Explorer does not allow java to run, it will cause a problem of Internet Explorer. Clicking "Download selected files" button should give you a warning and a prompt to allow the java process and site trust message if the Internet Explorer Tools> options > Local Security is set to medium-low. After allowing it, java process should initiate in a bit as it takes time to load the program. This should prompt you to browse path to save the file. If this is not visible, it is a problem with Internet explorer security.
FIX:
Either lower the local security to Medium-low or low on the Internet Explorer Tools menu > options > Local Security, or download one file at a time.
