GOAL:

Is it possible to integrate Progress WebClient and Crystal Reports

GOAL:

Considerations implementing Progress WebClient and Crystal Reports

FACT(s) (Environment):

All Supported Operating Systems
Crystal
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x

FIX:

Yes. It is possible to use/integrate Progress WebClient and Crystal reports.

Since the invocation of the Crystal Report is like using any third party OCX, use steps from Progress Solution 21567, How to deliver and register ActiveX controls with WebClient Applications for more information on how to include the required OCX's to the WebClient package.

Because the connection to the database to execute the report is done trought ODBC DSN, consider using a Crystal Report Server to allow better performance on the execution/generation of the reports and also to avoid a security breach for having to expose database ports directly in the Internet by having the Crystal Report Server inside the network.
