GOAL:
How to start an aiarchive enabled database.
GOAL:
Can an aiarchive enabled database be started using dbman.
GOAL:
Can an aiarchive enabled database be started using Progress Explorer or OpenEdge Explorer?
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
OpenEdge 10.1x
OpenEdge 10.2x
FIX:
An aiarchive enabled database can be started from the command line, but at the very least the startup must include the -aiarcdir <with appropriate value(s)> as a parameter. The aiarchive enabled database will not start if the -aiarcdir is not included. If you wish to set the -aiarcinterval <value in seconds> on startup it can also be placed on the command line.
If using Progress Explorer to configure/start a database you can place these values in the other arguments section, which will then be entered in the conmgr.properties file. That is the configuration used by the dbman command to start the database.
The conmgr.properties file can be modified manually but Progress Explorer is recommended to make those changes or you can use OpenEdge Explorer in 10.1C03 or greater.
Please reference attached solutions for details on the syntax to use with these parameters.
