Status: Unverified
SYMPTOM(s):
Cannot start the AdminServer on 10.2B02 as a non-root user.
Getting error: /usr/lib/pa20_64/dld.sl: Unable to find library ?libjvm.sl?.
FACT(s) (Environment):
Environment is not pointing to 9.1E.
9.1E and OpenEdge 10.2B02 reside on the same machine.
Can start the AdminServer as a root account.
Starting the AdminServer from command line.
AdminServer can be started for 9.1E installation without errors.
UNIX
OpenEdge 10.2x
OpenEdge Category: Configuration
OpenEdge Server Technology Category: AdminServer
CHANGE:
Migrating from 9.1E to 10.2B02 on the same physical machine.
CAUSE:
Proinventory data under ProInstall.log shows that owner for the jvmStart executable is root and not the non-root account. The ProInstall.log also shows that the setuid is enabled for the jvmStart for root.
FIX:
Modify the permissions and owner for the $DLC/bin/jvmStart to be the non-root user that is going to start the AdminServer.
