GOAL:

What are the differences between thai.df and thai-old.df?

GOAL:

Why there are thai.df and thai-old.df in the \prolang\tai\ directory?

FACT(s) (Environment):

All Supported Operating Systems
Progress 9.1x

FIX:

Progress Version 9.1 provides a new Thai collation, BASIC. This collation, available for the 620-2533 code page, follows the rules of Thai sorting more closely. The empty database in the DLC/prolang/tai directory uses this collation. Progress Software Corporation recommends that you use this new collation.
The collation previously named THAI is now named THAI-OLD. It is still available through the thai-old.df file in the DLC/prolang/tai directory.
For more information on converting existing Thai databases from the older collation to the newer collation, see the "Modifying Collation Tables" section of the chapter on "Understanding Character Processing Tables," in the Progress Internationalization Guide.
Since Version 9.1 renames the THAI collation of code page 620-2533 to THAI-OLD. You must change any existing references to THAI in your applications to THAI-OLD.
