SYMPTOM(s):

Getting error 2258 when attempting to disconnect a user from a database.

User cannot disconnect user . (2258)

Account being used is part of the Administrators group.

Database is being started via the AdminServer.

FACT(s) (Environment):

Can disconnect users from the database if the database is started from the command line.
The AdminService is being started as Local System Account
Sysprogress.sysdbauth shows that the user attempting to disconnect a user is a DBA in the database.

CHANGE:

Upgraded from one server machine to another server machine.

CAUSE:

The user attempting to disconnect users from the database has a Domain that is different than the local machine name.

FIX:

Create a local user account with the same name and password as the domain login account. Add the user to the local Administrators group. This will allow the user to disconnect other users from the database.
