SYMPTOM(s):
WebClient Assembler fails to add .NET Assemblies
When adding .NET Assemblies WebClient Assembler reports error: =>Adding System Task files...
Failed adding dependent assemblies: Failed to execute "C:\Program Files\Progress Software\WebClient\bin\prowin32.exe" -b -p protools/_proasmdep.r
The system cannot find the file specified.
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
Windows
CAUSE:
Installation was improperly configured to use WebClient as the client to launch the WebClient Assembler
FIX:
The WebClient Assembler requires the prowin32.exe for some of its functionality and prowin32.exe is not an executable deployed within the WebClient bin directory.
Use a full installation of Progress / OpenEdge with the Development or Studio license to initiate the WebClient Assembler.
