Kbase P175009: Running a Report Builder form gives convmap.cp error

SYMPTOM(s):

Running a Report Builder form gives convmap.cp error

Trying to view a report in Report Viewer before printing fails with error

Unable to open file convmap.cp

FACT(s) (Environment):

Windows
OpenEdge 10.2B

CAUSE:

The registry key that contains the correct path to the convmap.cp file was installed incorrectly.

The correct registry information should be in:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\\PSC\PROGRESS\10.2B]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\PSC\PROGRESS\10.2B]

However, it is possible the installation left one or both of those keys empty, and put the registry information in the
following key instead:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\\PSC\PROGRESS\10.2Bw]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\PSC\PROGRESS\10.2Bw]

FIX:

1. Export the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\\PSC\ and/or
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\PSC
2. After making sure the 10.2B registry key(s) are empty, delete only the 10.2B key(s), not the entire hive.
3. Rename the 10.2Bw key(s) to 10.2B.
4. Relaunch Report Builder and then the form.
