FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
SYMPTOM(s):
Progress window contains a browse widget
Initially the browse widget looks, compiles and runs fine.
Horizontal scrollbars appear.
CHANGE:
Compiled code runs on a different machine.
CAUSE:
When you compile a browse widget, Progress takes the width of the scroll bars on the machine which you are using into account when determining the size of the widget. If the machine on which you are running the compiled code has scroll bars which are wider than the machine on which the code was compiled you will get horizontal scroll bars.
FIX:
You can set the size of the scroll bars on your machine by doing the
following:
1) Right Mouse-Click on the Desktop
2) Choose Properties
At this point the Display Properties window be displayed
3) Select the Appearance tab
4) Select "Scrollbar" from the item combo-box
At this point the "Size" field will show the size of the scroll
bars. Sixteen (16) is the default size.
