SYMPTOM(s):
Oracle Client using ODBC or JDBC client connections to OpenEdge database abnormally terminate when attempting to select a locked record.
Error listed in database log reads:
(-----) TCP/IP write error occurred with errno 32
odbc.ini has transaction isolation level defined for Read Uncommitted

CHANGE:
Upgraded from OpenEdge 10.1A to 10.2A.
CAUSE:
This has been identified as an Oracle bug.
The initial transaction isolation level request which is defined in the odbc.ini is seen when using odbctrace. Oracle is giving a later, additional, directive to set the transaction isolation level to READ COMMITTED.
FIX:
Contact Oracle to request a patch / fix for Bug 9916220.
