SYMPTOM(s):
Error starting Progress database.
SYSTEM ERROR: Invalid note length <note length> (5111)
CAUSE:
This error message indicates corruption in the .bi file.
FIX:
The best fix is to restore the backup!
If a backup is not available, the second option is to force truncate the bi file.
proutil <database name> -C truncate bi -F
Now the database must be dumped and reloaded into a new database.
