Displaying CHR(1) returns blank in Windows 7
Same happens in Vista and Windows 2008 (R2)
In Windows XP CHR(1) returns a square.
FACT(s) (Environment):

CAUSE:
Microsoft has changed the view for the 'forbidden' characters to display blank, instead of a square, as in Windows XP.
FIX:
Choose a different character to use as a delimiter
