GOAL:
How to install the Sonic ESB Adapter if Sonic is installed after OpenEdge has already been installed
GOAL:
How to install the Sonic ESB Adapter if OpenEdge has already been installed on the system
FACT(s) (Environment):
OpenEdge 10.1x
OpenEdge 10.2x
Sonic ESB 7.x
All Supported Operating Systems
FIX:
If you install Sonic after installing OpenEdge, the easiest way for configuring the adapter is to do a Domain Install which is to run the OpenEdge setup again and install the Sonic ESB Adapter license (free deployment licenses are available through the Download Center).
If that?s not possible (e.g. you already installed the Sonic ESB Adapter), then you can perform an Offline Install by running the offline.bat or offline.sh script. This will only work out-of-the-box if you specified the correct values for Sonic during the OpenEdge installation, otherwise you will need to perform some manual modifications before running the offline script:
- 1) Start your Sonic Domain Manager.
- 2) Make sure that all properties of the %DLC%\install\tlr\installtlr.properties file are correct (except for the ones with "[[...]]" values).
- 3) Also make sure that the installMode property in the the %DLC%\install\tlr\installtlr.properties file has a value of 2.
- 4) Rename the esbadaptertlr.log located in %DLC%\install\tlr if it exists.
- 5) Make sure that all paths are correct in the %DLC%\sonic\ESB7.5\config\offline.bat file.
- 6) Run the %DLC%\sonic\ESB7.5\config\offline.bat batch file.
- 7) Verify that there are no error messages in the newly created esbadaptertlr.log file located in the %DLC%\install\tlr directory (if there are, then these need to be solved).

Alternatively, you can also export the ESB Adapter Service Type from another system and import it in the current system by using the Sonic ESB Deployment Export/Import Tool.
