GOAL:
4GL/ABL: Does the batch client session startup parameter ?b have any effect on the transaction scope of a 4GL/ABL client session?
GOAL:
Is it true that when the batch client session startup parameter ?b is used, the entire session is 1 big transaction even if there are several distinct transactions?
GOAL:
Is there any behavioral difference in this regard between Progress 9.x 4GL client sessions and OpenEdge 4GL/ABL client sessions?
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
FIX:
The the batch client session startup parameter ?b has no effect whatsoever on the transaction scope of a 4GL/ABL client session.
It is not true that the use of the the batch client session startup parameter ?b makes all the different transactions of a 9.x 4GL application into one big transaction.
There has been no change in this context ( i.e. regarding the 4GL/ABL transaction scope behavior ) between Progress 9.x and OpenEdge 10.x.
