Status: Unverified
FACT(s) (Environment):
UNIX
WebSpeed 2.x
SYMPTOM(s):
WTB: Received a SIGCHLD from a child process. The dying process pid = . (5743)
Msngr: Disconnecting with no header on WTA output web stream. <BR> (5814)
CAUSE:
The broken connection is usually caused either by some network error, or by the agent dying for some reason before it can start fulfilling the request.
If there is no network error indicated and the agent has not timed out, the one possible reason for receiving this error is that the lock table has overflowed.
FIX:
Please review your kernel settings to verify that they are set according to the guidelines described in the WebSpeed Installation and Configuration Guide, page 1-5.
IMPORTANT: These recommended settings are for WebSpeed applications. The values required by Progress must be added to the current kernel parameter values. In other words, these recommendations do NOT take into account the requirement of UNIX operating system and/or any other applications that use shared memory or semaphores. Consult your system documentation to determine UNIX's requirements.
