GOAL:

Can the before image of replicated source database be truncated

GOAL:

Can truncate bi option be used on a replicated source database

GOAL:

Is it possible to trucate the bi of a source database

FACT(s) (Environment):

All Supported Operating Systems
Fathom Replication

FIX:

Yes. You can perform a Before Image (BI) truncate of the source database.
Note that BI truncate alters the database in any way so after-image notes can be generated.
For example, BI truncate after abnormal database end, there is a possibility that active transactions will be undone. This process generates AI transaction log records. Since Fathom Replication is not running at the time the BI truncate is run, all AI areas could potentially fill up. Therefore, be sure to have enough available space in your AI areas to handle this event.
