The Office2007 UI licensing program provides participants with the legal rights and Design Guidelines to make applications that look and behave like the 2007 release of Office in a simple, web-based, royalty-free license.
There has been tremendous interest from Microsoft's ISV partners who want to create applications that use the new Office UI. Microsoft wanted to create an easy way for them to do that while protecting their massive R&D investment. Through this program, Microsoft is letting others have the benefit of the functionality and great design of the new UI in a way that?s good for the Office ecosystem and good for Microsoft.
