Word Index Patch - Instructions
-------------------------------
This patch is for the Progress Version 9.0A Electronic Documentation CD. Without this patch, the Find field (Search Panel) at the bottom of the DynaText Viewer is disabled (grayed-out) and you cannot perform a search at the collection-level on the 9.0A documentation set.
After completing this fix, you will be able to enter data in the Find field at the bottom of the Collection window of the DynaText viewer and perform collection-level searches.
Note: This patch only works for books installed or copied from the CD to a local or network drive. Since the Edoc CD is not-writeable, you cannot use this patch to fix the search issue for collections on the CD itself .
Overview
--------
This patch allows you to add a directory (called Libidx) to each of the collection directories in the main Disk directory. Each Libidx directory provides the search index for its corresponding collection.
Steps
-----
1. Using a WinZip application, open the 90aIndexPatch.zip file.
2. Extract the files and directories into the directory that contains the 9.0A collections (by default, this directory is c:\psdoc90).
If you only have a subset of the 9.0A collections, you only need to select and extract the files that correspond to the collections you have installed. For example, if you only installed the devtools collection, you only need to extract the following:
books.lst in devtools\libidx index.dat in devtools\libidx\freqs
vocab.dat in devtools\libidx\freqs
3. Open the DynaText Viewer to make sure that the Find field (located at the bottom of the Collection window) is enabled for all collections.
The patch for this problem is available for both Windows and UNIX platforms. It is located on the Progress FTP site:
