Progress expects an industry standard TCP connection in order to communicate over the network. The media the network is built upon is transparent to Progress, that is, it does not matter what type media the network uses (fiber optic cable, cat 5 cable, phone lines, T1 lines, infra red light, etc.). There are no special configuration changes needed. Performance tuning issues may need to be addressed to maximize the use of Progress over the network.
