SYMPTOM(s):
SQL-92 connection used to generate the report remains connected when Crystal Reports is run and either previewed (through Crystal Report viewer), printed or exported direct to an application
FACT(s) (Environment):
Connecting to the database through the ConnectionProperties object in Crystal Reports
Crystal Reports 11 (XI)
Releasing the application, report, ExportOption and ConnectionProperties objects that are created for the report and setting these com handles to null
Exiting or quitting the 4GL application releases the SQL connection
OpenEdge 10.x
CAUSE:
A com-handle that referenced subreports in the Crystal Report was not being released
FIX:
Release the com-handle that referenced subreports in the Crystal Report
