SYMPTOM(s):
Errors when running OpenEdge Studio Sample Application according to instructions in documentation
Directions in OpenEdge Getting Started: OpenEdge Studio manual for running SportsPro do not work.
Error messages are displayed when running SportsPro after building the application according to instructions
Attempt to connect a partition named sports2000partition.
This partition is not currently defined in the Service Parameter Maintenance tool.
sports2000partition partition is running locally without the proper database connection(s).
After the message boxes are dismissed, the SportsPro main menu appears, but clicking on menu choices displays further error messages.

FIX:
Perform the following additional steps when setting up the SportsPro sample application:
1. On the ProTools toolbar, click the "Server Parameter Maintenance" button (10th from the right).
2. In the Server Parameter Maintenace application, click the "Add record" button (1st from the left on top)
3. Fill in the fields as follows:
Partition: sports2000partition
Host: localhost
Service: 20931
Application Service: sports2000partition
Configuration: Local
Prompt for userid and password: Unchecked
4. Click the "Save record" button (4th from left on top)
5. Click the "Close" button (1st from left on bottom).
