SYMPTOM(s):
Using OpenEdge Explorer on Linux to modify a unified broker's configuration can corrupt the ubroker.properties file.
Modifying a WebSpeed broker's properties using OpenEdge Explorer inserts control-M (^M) into the ubroker.properties files which prevents OpenEdge Explorer from being able to make any future changes.
Modifying any unified broker's properties will cause control-M(^M) characters to be inserted at the end line in the Environment section of that brokers properties.
After manually removing the control-M(^M) characters from the ubroker.properties file, edits to that broker's configuration through OpenEdge Explorer will work again.
FACT(s) (Environment):
Accessing the AdminServer running on the Linux machine from Microsoft's Internet Explorer
Red Hat Linux
OpenEdge 10.1C03 Service Pack
CAUSE:
Bug# OE00189593
FIX:
Upgrade to 10.2B.
To workaround this issue:
Make a copy of the ubroker.properties file in the properties subdirectory of your OpenEdge installation.
Manually edit the ubroker.properties tile and remove any control-M(^M) characters in the file.
Once those changes have been saved, you will be able to edit the unified broker's configuration using OpenEdge Management.
